A cross section of the Diplomatic Staff at the Embassy of the Republic Sierra Leone in Beijing, People’s Republic of China (PRC) has warmly received the newly appointed Ambassador to the PRC, His Excellency Abu Bakarr Karim. His arrival, it is believed signifies a new chapter in the bilateral relations between Sierra Leone and China.
The Ambassador, whose background spans from Health, Agriculture to Trade and Industrialization, brings wealth of experience and expertise that will project His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio’s flagship project as china is considered a key partner in achieving the ‘Feed Salone Project.
Staff of the Embassy present at the airport expressed excitement about the arrival of the new Ambassador and highlighted the importance of his role in advancing Sierra Leone-China Diplomatic relationship. They emphasized the need for continued collaboration in areas such as Agriculture, trade, investment, education, healthcare, infrastructure development, Mining and cultural exchanges.
Making his brief remarks, H.E Abu Bakarr Karim thanked staff of the Embassy for facilitating his documentation and travelling arrangement in record speed and assured them of working together in projecting the Government’s flagship projects.
He went on to say that Sierra Leone and China have enjoyed a long-standing friendship and cooperation since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1971. Over the years, China has been a key partner in supporting Sierra Leone’s development programmes, the Ambassador said.
Based on his vast experience on agriculture, trade and industrialization, the newly appointed Ambassador is expected to play a crucial role in further deepening the existing cooperation between the two nations, Sierra Leone and China through the principles of mutual respect, equality, and win-win cooperation for the benefit of their peoples.
