Twenty-three-year-old Abdul Conteh, an electrician, has made his first court appearance before Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura at Pademba Road Court No. 8 in Freetown on charges relating to alleged violent offences.
The accused is facing three counts: wounding with intent, contrary to Section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act, 1861; Wounding, contrary to Section 20 of the same Act; and Assault occasioning actual bodily harm, contrary to Section 47 of the Act.
According to the particulars of the offence, on Monday, 24th November 2025, at No. 13 King Williams Street, Western Area, Freetown, the accused allegedly wounded Abubakarr Kamara, commonly known as “Buba,” with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.
Counts two and three further allege that on the same date and at the same location, Abdul Conteh maliciously wounded and assaulted the complainant in a manner that resulted in actual bodily harm.
When the charges were read and explained to the accused, no plea was taken.
The prosecutor, Detective Police Constable 14898 Joseph Lamin Dumbuya, informed the court that all relevant documents had been served on the defendant.
Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura refused bail and ordered that the accused be remanded at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown.
The matter has been adjourned to 6th January 2026 for further hearing.
