Electrician Remanded for Wounding with Intent in Freetown

23-year-old Abdul Conteh, an electrician, made his first appearance before Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura of Pademba Road Court No. 8 on charges related to the wounding of Abubakarr Kamara.

Conteh faces three counts including wounding with intent, contrary to Section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act, 1861. wounding, contrary to Section 120 of the same Act. Assault occasioning actual bodily harm, contrary to Section 47 of the Act.

According to the particulars of the offence, on Monday, 24th November 2025, at #13 King Williams Street, Western Area, Freetown, the defendant allegedly wounded Kamara with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. The second and third counts state that Conteh maliciously wounded and assaulted Kamara, causing actual bodily harm.

When the charges were read and explained, no plea was taken by the defendant.

Magistrate Samura refused bail and remanded Conteh to the male correctional facility in Freetown, adjourning the matter to 11th December 2025.
