Elizabeth Foray made another appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on a count of illegal Abstraction of Electricity Supply
First Prosecution witness (PW1) Isaac Komba Manda an electrical technician said his role is to check electrical work and anything related to electric. He said he knew the accused persons and recalled the 27th October 2021.
On that day, himself and my team working for presidential task force with two police officers, an engineer, media man approach the house of the accused at Imatt.
On our arrival as technician we asked for the owner of the house and the accused said she is the owner of the house and we introduce ourselves and she allow us to check the meter and when we open the meter it was off but the accused had light at her house.
“I opened the meter and noticed that somebody has tampered with the meter and I call the accused and show her” witness testified.
The witness said the meter number is 68500109503.
Tampering with the meter somebody bridge the meter and I removed the meter and handed it over to the police.
At that juncture, Magistrate Kekura sought for a date, and the matter was adjourned to 19th November 2021.
The accused Elizabeth Foray is before the court on a count of illegal abstraction of electricity supply contrary to section 68(1)(a) of the National electricity act no 16 of 2011.
The charge sheet states that the Accused on Wednesday 27th October 2021 at Regent road Imatt in Freetown dishonestly abstracted electricity supply.
Charlie I Williams Esq is defending the accused person and PC 14898 Dumbuya Joseph Lamin prosecuting.
