East End Lions have once again shown why they are one of the giants of Sierra Leonean football after being crowned champions of this year’s SLFA Men’s Unity Cup  . The “Killers” defeated Bhantal FC 2–0 in a thrilling encounter played at the Approved School Field in Freetown.

It was a tough contest from start to finish, with both teams creating plenty of chances in the first half but failing to find the back of the net. The breakthrough finally came in the 70th minute when Alusine Dumbuya fired home a beautiful finish to put East End Lions ahead, sending their fans into wild celebrations.

As the game approached its end, Mohamed Koroma sealed the victory in the 90th minute with a well-timed tap-in from a low cross, securing a well-deserved win for the 2024/25 Leone Rock Premier League Champions

The match was graced by several football dignitaries, including the  Vice President of the Sierra Leone Football Association, Ex-Officio Kwaku Lisk and Western Area Regional Football Association Chairman, Rev. Philip Buck.

Thousands of fans from across Freetown and other parts of the country filled the Approved School Field to witness what many described as an exciting and memorable clash between two of the country’s top clubs.

The Unity Cup serves as the traditional curtain-raiser to the new football season, which officially kicks off on Saturday, November 8th 2025.
