Forty-six years old Lahai Koroma a Machine Operator, fifty years old Alicious Bobson Sandy a driver and Sorie Bangura an engineer made their first appearance before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on two count charges to wit Conspiracy to commit a crime contrary to law and Larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of the offence on a date unknown between 8th to 10th March 2023 at the Freetown International Airport, Lungi Kafu Cullum Chiefdom the Northern Province of Freetown the accused persons conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a crime to wit Larceny on count two at the same place and date both accused persons did steal the property of value Khasru Mainuddin Mohammed whilst in the care of Asky Airline.
The charges were read and explained to the accused persons No plea taken
The prosecutor Sergeant 9939 Mohamed Lahai informed the Bench that his witness is absent.
He seeks a short adjournment date.
Counsel representing the accused persons Charles Abass Bangura applied for bail on behalf of all accused persons that they have reliable sureties who are willing and ready to go into recognisance on their behalf.
They will not interfere with the prosecution witnesses or witnesses nor will they jump bail he made his application pursuant to section 79 2 of the Criminal Procedure Act No.32 of 1965.
Meanwhile, magistrate Ngegba granted the accused persons bail in the sum of Fifty thousand new Leones each with two sureties each surety to produce the new voter’s identity card.
Bail to be approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar, Matter adjourned to 2nd May 2023.
