Mohamed Kamara a driver made his first appearance before Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on three count charges to wit Conspiracy contrary to law, Larceny contrary to section and Malicious Damage.
According to the particulars of the offence on Friday 3rd March 2023 at New England Ville the western Area in Freetown conspired together and with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit Larceny from a vehicle; on count two at the same place and date the accused person Stole from Toyota Camry with registration number ATJ 622, one black coloured vehicle battery, one black pack, three pair assorted colour creaps, one red polo and the physical sum of five thousand new Leones all to the total sum of eight thousand three hundred and fifty Leones(8,350) property of Abdulraham Kanu and on count three the accused person at the same place and date maliciously damage the right side vehicle glass of Toyota Camry with registration number ATJ 622 valued one thousand new Leones(Le 1,000) property of Abdulraham Kanu.
Counsel representing the accused person W. Gaber applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused person that he is a Sierra Leonean resident within this jurisdiction and that he has reliable sureties who are willing and ready to go into recognisance on his behalf and he will not interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses he made his application pursuant to section 79 2 of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Gogra granted the accused person bail in the sum of twenty thousand Leones with two sureties in like sum sureties to be resident in the western area sureties to produce valid identity card depicting his or her address in Freetown; one surety to be employed. Bail to be approved by the Bench and the matter was adjourned to the 28th of June 2023 for further hearing, while Inspector Musu Edna Kpulun is prosecuting the matter.
