A medical doctor was temporarily taken into police custody at Pademba Road Court No. 5 in Freetown after allegedly displaying unruly behavior and arguing with the magistrate during proceedings in a long-standing property dispute.
The matter involves Victor Davies, Celia Davies, and Charles Davies, all of No. 7B May Street, Kingtom, Freetown, who have brought a case against Baba Shola Chinsman Hu of No. 47 Wellington Street, Freetown.
According to the charge sheet, the accused faces two counts under the Devolution of Estate Act No. 21 of 2007.
Prosecutors allege that between 23 August 2007 and 1 October 2025, the accused, as the sole surviving executor and trustee of the late Mrs. Amistricia Ainor Whitfield’s will dated 14 July 1996, failed or refused to probate the will and transfer the properties to the named beneficiaries.
The second charge states that the accused unlawfully interfered with the deceased’s properties, thereby affecting the rights of the lawful beneficiaries.
Court proceedings reportedly became tense when the accused allegedly engaged in a heated argument with the magistrate. Due to his conduct, he was ordered into the court’s holding cell to restore order before the matter was adjourned.
The case continues as the court examines the prolonged property dispute.
