The legal battle over the estate property of the late Abi Bockarie Bangura continued at Magistrate Court No. 8, presided over by Magistrate Brima Samura. The dispute involves Abu Zubairu Bangura and twelve respondents, including Brima Wilson.
During the proceedings, Brima Wilson resumed his testimony, presenting a document he claimed to be an original rent receipt. Wilson explained that the purpose of submitting the document was not to prove ownership of the apartment but to demonstrate that the apartment belongs to Joseph Wilson, not Abubakarr Bangura, the applicant in the case.
However, the prosecution objected, arguing that the receipt was inadmissible as evidence, since Brima Wilson is neither the named recipient nor listed on the document. The court asked how Wilson had come into possession of the receipt, to which he replied that the apartment owner had given it to him in 2025 after he made a rent payment.
Despite the objection, the court allowed the document to be admitted as evidence and marked it as Exhibit Y1–2.
In cross-examination by defense counsel A.I. Barrie, Wilson confirmed that he knew Abu Zubairu Bangura as his cousin and was familiar with some members of the Bangura family. When Barrie questioned whether Wilson was a biological member of the Wilson family, Wilson clarified, “No.”
The case centers on the estate property of Abi Bockarie Bangura, who passed away intestate (without a will). The property was granted to Abu Zubairu Bangura on December 22, 2023. The case involves a total of twelve respondents: Brima Wilson, Mohamed Kamara, Aminata Kamara, Mummy Conteh, Mummy Kargbo, Alhassan Koroma, Alie Kamara, Daddy Brima Limba, Madam Nenneh, Mr. Daddy, Marie Kargbo, and Fatmata Kamara.
The case has been adjourned to October 14, 2025 for further hearings and additional witness testimonies. The legal dispute over the estate remains ongoing as the court continues to evaluate the claims and evidence presented by both sides.
