20 years old Ibrahim Barrie a pupil and 39 years old Sao Fefegulah a Farmer made their first appearance before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on four count charges to wit Conspiracy to commit a felony, house breaking and larceny, receiving stolen goods and Fraudulent conversion.
According to the particulars of offence sometimes in August 2023 at Baoma oil Village, Kandu Leppiama Chiefdom Kenema District the Eastern Region in Freetown with intent to defraud conspired together and with other persons unknown to defraud Alusine Mohamed Conteh four Carat fifteen percent (4.15%) diamond valued four hundred and seventy seven thousand two hundred and fifty Leones(477,250).
On Count two the first accused person on the 25th August 2023 at the same village with intent to steal broke and entered into the dwelling house of Moses Brima Conteh and stole therein four Carat fifteen percent diamond, eighty six percent diamond, seventy three percent diamond and fifty five percent diamond all to the total sum of five hundred and eleven thousand five hundred and eighty nine Leones (Le 511,589) Property of Alusine Mohamed Conteh whilst in custody of Moses Brima Conteh.
On count three, the second accused person on the above date and place did receive one four Carat fifteen percent diamond value four hundred and seventy seven thousand two hundred and fifty Leones (Le 477,250) from Ibrahim Barrie knowing same to have been stolen.
Finally, on count four on the above date and place the second accused person Fraudulently converted to his own use or benefit certain property that is to say one-point-four Carat fifteen percent (15%) diamond value four hundred and seventy seven thousand two hundred and fifty Leones (Le 477,250) entrusted to him by Ibrahim Barrie for the purpose of sale property of Alusine Mohamed Conteh.
When the charges were read and explained to the accused persons no plea taken.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Ngegba refused bail and sent the accused persons to the male correctional center in Freetown and matter was adjourned to the 9th November 2023 for further hearing, while Inspector Mabel M Tarawalie prosecuting the matter.
