Diakonia Theological College Bids Farewell to 36 Graduands

The Management of Diakonia Theological College held its second congregation ceremony on Saturday, March 28, 2026, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s history. The event culminated in the conferment of diplomas, the award of certificates, and the licensing and ordination of thirty-six graduands.

Pastor Joseph Conteh, who served as Master of Ceremony, welcomed guests and highlighted the institution’s achievements over the years. He urged the graduands to become ambassadors of the college by embodying its values and principles.

The Deputy Leader of Government Business II, Sahr Emerson Lamina, encouraged the graduands to conduct themselves with integrity in their ministerial work. Sharing his personal spiritual journey, he inspired them to become exemplary men and women of God in society. Hon. Lamina emphasized the importance of speaking the truth, standing for the truth, and serving God faithfully.

The Minority Leader and Leader of the Opposition, Abdul Kargbo, delivered a compelling keynote address. He recounted his story of perseverance, explaining how he made four attempts to enroll in university but was hindered by financial challenges. His breakthrough came when his bishop sponsored his university education, enabling him to achieve his goals. Hon. Kargbo expressed deep gratitude for this support, which he credited for his success.

He called on churches to shift their focus from exploitation to empowerment, urging them to support their members financially, morally, and spiritually. He also encouraged the graduands to make a positive impact in their ministries, stressing that they are equipped to bring about meaningful change.

The ceremony concluded with the formal conferment of diplomas, certificates, and ordination licenses, marking a new chapter in the spiritual journeys of the graduands. The event underscored the institution’s commitment to nurturing future leaders and servants of God.

The graduands are now poised to make meaningful contributions to their communities, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values instilled in them by Diakonia Theological College. As they embark on their ministerial paths, they are reminded of their responsibility to serve with integrity, compassion, and dedication.
