The much talked about destruction on the facilities of EDSA and EGTC in Koidu City has created mixed feelings among residents of Koidu city and Kono District as a whole. People discussing the issue have described it as malicious and mysterious owing to the fact that the said facilities were only destroyed but not carted away.

According to them it is mysterious because they expect one of the facilities the main transformer to be within a perimeter fence under the watchful eyes of hired and paid security officers but to their greatest surprise the said transformer was maliciously damaged without any alarm or the perpetrators of the reported act carrying away with the copper cables which are very lucrative in the black market.

Those discussing the destruction issues have called   on the police to thoroughly investigate the matter as it is very complex noting prior to the reported destruction on the facilities of EDSA and EGTC some aggrieved people in the municipality of Koidu threatened to demonstrate after a ten day ultimatum should the management of the aforementioned electricity institutions fail to repair or install their transformer.

They said the reported ultimatum must have been used by either partners especially the electricity institutions in order to abort the objective of the ultimatum or as a yard stick to involve the authors of the ultimatum on the basis of statement of account. Those arrested and detained for allegedly perpetrating the act are still helping the police in their investigation.

Whilst appealing to the police not to release any of the suspects in their custody for the reported destruction on the facilities of EDSA and EGTC, those who spoke to this medium pointed out that they are expecting the paramount chiefs to suggest a traditional means in order to address the issues.
