On Friday, August 22, 2025, the Desire Divine Adult Literacy Learning Centre and Ison Kitchen Services held their 3rd graduation ceremony at the Rcube, Paramedical Gate in Bo. The event was celebrated under the theme “Elevating Expectations.”
The programme received support from United Bank through the Government of Sierra Leone, alongside the PSSYNE Project implemented by CEDA, Projects 1835, SE-Hub (Social Entrepreneurship Hub), and Local Action for Development (LAD).
In his keynote address, Philip Wisman reminded the graduates that this ceremony was not an end, but a stepping stone toward greater achievements. He encouraged them to give back to society and emphasized the importance of women having confidence in their abilities.
Representing the media, Fatmata Grace Okekearu expressed pride in graduate Issata Jalloh Rogers for reaching this milestone. She urged all beneficiaries to make the most of their training, stressing that women must embrace integrity, smart work, and dedication.
The Guest of Honour, Haja Halima Lukulay of the Bo City Council, encouraged the graduates to use their skills to serve humanity. She noted, “Prayer alone is not enough; true faith requires action, and knowledge is essential for progress.”
Haja Lukulay also announced that each trained beneficiary would receive a $300 startup package to support their business initiatives. She cautioned the graduates to manage the funds wisely and with discipline to ensure sustainability.
The graduation ceremony concluded with joy and renewed determination as beneficiaries were reminded to transform their knowledge and opportunities into lasting impact for themselves and their communities.
