Morocco National team has advanced to the last 16 of the African Cup of Nations with two goals victory over debutant Comoros in group C.
Selim Amallah fired in a loose ball to open the scoring and Zakaria Aboulhlol slotted the other completing the win for the Atlas Lions in the last minutes. They will be far from wasteful performance which included a missed penalty by Youssef EN- Nesyri.
Comoros Keeper Salim Ben Boina demonstrated an impressive display but could not prevent defeats for the debutante. They created occasional chances that contributed to an entertaining game but we’re outclassed, at least in terms of possession and passing and their wait for a first goal at their maiden nations Cup finals goes on and the final chance for Cameroon will be on Tuesday against Ghana in Garoua.
In Group B Senegal and Guinea moved closer to reaching the last 16 at the Africa Cup of Nations following a goalless draw.
The Guineans had only real chance of the first half when Seny Dieng saved a low effort from Morgan Guilavogui as Senegal grew into the group B clash after the break as Abdou Diallo had a header tipped over and Bouna Sarr draggedd a shot across goal and wide. Both sides have four points after two games which could see them progress as one of four best third placed teams.
Gobadinho Mhange scored twice as Malawi beat Zimbabwe by two goals to one (2-1) to boost their hopes of a first ever appearance in the last 16 at the Africa Cup of Nations Zimbabwe went ahead with a 38th minutes header from Ishmael Wadi, but Mhango equalised from five minutes later with a controlled half-volley and Mhango put the flames ahead in their group B clash by drinking over the keeper 13 minutes into the second half.
In group C Gabon scored a controversial late goal against Ghana to draw their Africa Cup of Nations in group C by a one all draw (1-1).
Andrew Ayew had put Ghana in front in the 18th minute, but the strike was cancelled out by Jim Allevinah 88th minutes equalizer.
Ghana now facing a nervous fooled to return the ball after an injury to their player Daniel – Kofi Kyere had gone down following a challenge inside the Gabon half, but from the result thrown in Guelor Kanga played the ball to allevinah who struck a low left footed short across JoJo Wallcott and into the bottom right hand corner.
