Police at the Criminal Investigations Department of the Sierra Leone Police Motema Divisional Headquarters in Nimikoro Chiefdom are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of Police Constable 23166, Solomon Kellie.
The deceased officer was found in his bedroom in Jaiama Nimikoro on Thursday, March 26, 2026.
According to the Media and Community Relations Officer at the Motema Divisional Headquarters, Peter Ndapi, preliminary investigations indicate that the officer may have died on Monday, March 23, 2026, shortly after returning from a special duty assignment within the division.
He stated that the exact cause of death remains unknown and is subject to ongoing investigations. However, due to the advanced state of decomposition at the time the body was discovered, the remains were buried in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Meanwhile, unverified reports circulating within the community have suggested possible spiritual causes linked to family matters. Authorities have not confirmed these claims, and investigations are ongoing to establish the facts.
