Cricket Sierra Leone successfully ended its four-day provincial tour on Thursday, targeting three thousand five hundred pupil participants to create a cricket national identity.

The tour started in Kenema, proceeded to Bo, and climaxed in Mokonde and Moyamba in the pilot phase.

The delegation, led by CSL’s Acting General Manager Chrispin Ekundayo George, engaged stakeholders in the mentioned towns, appointed provincial development officers, distributed forms to capture the data of PE teachers in the target regions and of 3,500 pupils, laid the ground for the creation of regional cricket clubs, inspected existing cricket facilities, and identified potential cricket sites, especially the one at June Hartranfat Memorial Primary School for Girls in Moyamba.

Local WhatsApp forums have been created to provide this target group with emerging entry-level cricket programs.

“The tour was a huge success. We have had a good sense of what to do next to develop the game,” George said.

The move marked one of the key reforms the Acting GM has undertaken since assuming the role a month ago.
