The Board Chairman of Cricket Sierra Leone (CSL), Francis Trevor Samura, expressed democracy and magnanimity by requesting players of the National Female Team to nominate their captain and vice captain during a high-level team meeting on 17th March, 2025 at the Kingtom Police Oval.
This move is geared towards having a team player through popularity and discipline.
Speaking during the meeting on Monday, Chairman Samura said a team captain should be able to command respect among players and should have the natural dexterity to unite the squad. “This is the reason I am requesting you to nominate your captain and vice captain. The Board will then appoint and approve those brought to the fore,” he told the players.
The National Female Team is gearing up to participate in the BCA Kalahari Women’s T20 Tournament in Gaborone Botswana from April 24 to May 1, 2025.
The final squad of 14, including three reserves, will be named on Thursday.
The ladies Patriots are currently on intensive training sessions ahead of the Tournament ahead with huge impact during their training sessions.
