Justice Alusine Sesay (JSC) has sentenced 35 years old Alie Koroma to 24 Months imprisonment after pleading guilty of Fraudulent Converted 36 million Leone.
It was alleged that the convict on the 1st October, 2021, in the Western Area of Freetown, conspired together with other person unknown to Fraudulent Converted Johnson Baby lotions.
Justice Sesay, speaking yesterday while sentencing Alie Koroma, who pleaded guilty to a Fraudulent Converted charge, the call-over judge, said because is a first time offender and a promising young man.
He said because the convict didn’t wasted the time to plead guilty of the offence of fraudulent Converted, as the charge was read to him by the court registrar.
The convict pleaded with the judge to temper justice with mercy.
Pleading for and on behalf of the convict, Lawyer C. Tucker, from the Legal Aid Board of Sierra Leone, asked the court to temper justice with mercy.
She informed the court that the convict was a first time offender and must have learnt his lessons during his stay at the Male Correctional Centre.
She called on the judge to take into cognizance the fact that the convict did not waste the court’s time to plead guilty to the charge, arguing that he had shown some amount of remorse for his wrongdoing.
However, Justice Sesay sentence the convict o 24-month imprisonment including time spent in prison and should pay compensation to the complainant after serving his sentence.
