Youths of Bumpeh Chiefdom in Bo District have expressed their dissatisfaction over the fact that their labour has gone in vain with hundred acres of land ploughed in the Chiefdom with no rice planted thereon.

They are therefore calling on the investigation of the Anti-corruption Commission into what they described as suspected corruption in diverting resources to embark on agriculture.

According to Brima Sowa, it is good that an investigation is conducted to ascertain what could be responsible for the delayed planting..

Reacting to the allegation, the Deputy Director of Agriculture in Bo District, Samuel Palmer  said that’’ what was responsible for the hundred acres of land to be utilized because the tractor to plough the land in the chiefdom came late and by the time  they could plough all the land  rain has set in.

He however said that by next year, he is hopeful that the hundred acres of land could be utilized for agricultural purpose, adding that “I want the people to know that the youth in Bumpeh have a service    provider that is working with them who is in charge of the tractors.

Mr. Palmer conceded that there is a problem in Bumpeh chiefdom and the Ministry of Agriculture is committed to seeing that the challenges are redressed since the machines are now available and the tilled land will be used for the intended purposes.’’
