36yrs old Valentine Johnson a contractor made his first appearance before Magistrate Peter Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on two count charges to wit Wounding Contrary to Section 20 of the offences against the person Act 1861 and Assault Occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to section 47 of the offences against the person Act 1861.
According to the particulars of offence on Tuesday 6th December 2022 at Barrie Compound Scan drive Spur Road in the western area in Freetown maliciously wounded and assaulted Aminata Bangura in a manner thereby occasioning her actual bodily harm.
The charges were read and explained to the accused person and he pleaded guilty on each counts.
The prosecutor Assistant Superintendent of police Abdul Sannoh informed the bench that fact as charge no available records against the accused person.
The accused person was unrepresented and he pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy.
However, Magistrate Gogra due to the plea mitigation by the accused person he sentenced the accused person to the male correctional center in Freetown for three months.
