The former SLPP Aspirant for Constituency 110 Josephine H.M Jackson has on Sunday the 9th October 2022 at the Funkia Community Centre invited Young Generation Leaders and Secretary General of different Constituencies like 105,106,107,108,109,110,111 and 112 about her intention to be the next Chairperson of the SLPP in the Western area.
She told the congregation that when President Bio took power in 2018 she told him that she has vision to build up Constituency 110.
She revealed that she told him about the dilapidated Community Centre, the building of Schools to aid the free quality education agenda and the day to day sufferings of women, and further pointed her aims and objectives which are to bring developmental projects in the community.
Madam Jackson told the congregation that the opposition APC has been controlling the mountain and Western Area Rural District council (Ward C) but noted that there is no development the APC can show case for thirty years.
“Iam determined to reverse the neglect of the APC in WARD-C”, she disclosed.
According to her, she wants the position to turn the table around, she said the President has made it clear in Parliament that he’s encouraging women to apply for political positions and she’s looking forward to her fellow women to support her for women and youth empowerment and for the growth of the community.
She lamented about the status of the market women at Waterloo whom she said are still suffering under the rain and further disclosed that her primary focus is on women especially the Fisher men and women who are deprived of their rights.
She said the women are still deprived and pleaded with her fellow women to choose wisely as she donated six solar lights to the community, as according to her what men can do women can do better.
Madam Jackson said very soon the peninsular Road will be opened and pointed out that the community in Goderich is without a market.
The Constituency 110 Chairman Alfred Chambers said he has been with Madam Jackson for years and he is the one who handed her over to the community.
He said Madam Jackson has so many outstanding things she has done for the community as a whole.
Mr Chambers affirmed that madam Jackson has come again for another position he told the gathering to work hand in hand with her.
“There are Aspirants that introduce themselves for several position like village Heads, Honorables and Councilors and there is only one female Aspirant from the entire community that aspires for village Head, she introduces her Self as Olayemi Pratt”, the chairman explains.
