As part of strides to achieving the Free Quality School Education of the Government of Sierra Leone, the Chief whip of Sierra Leone House of Parliament representing constituency 100 Pujehun District Dickson Momoh Rogers, has distributed school materials to schools across his constituency in Pujehun.

The donated items included school uniforms, shoes for both boys and girls, school bags and lots more.

According to Dickson Momoh Rogers, the distribution of school materials across schools within his constituency is part of his annual activities for the actualization of pupil enrollment, retention and completion of school since the launch of the Free Quality School Education program by President Julius Maada Bio in August 2018.

“The government of President Bio is serious about education; and certainly we too believe in the transformative power of education for personal, community, and national developments. Therefore I am supporting and sharing this vision and dream, so that collectively our aspiration as a nation to make Sierra Leone a global leader in education becomes a reality once again”, he said.

The Chief Whip of Parliament assured that the above donated items would benefit over one thousand school children across constituency 100 in Pujehun District. He said pupils who got a Score of 300 and above in last year’s Nation Primary School Examination and pupils who are presently in JSS 3 are prioritized in the distribution of the School items.

Making a statement, the Regent Chief of Perri Chiefdom, Bockarie Kpaka described the occasion as one that needs to be celebrated boisterously. The Regent Chief described Honorable Dickson as someone who has a passion for education. He added that the donation was not pegged on political reasons but as a generous gift to ameliorate quality education in the district.

He, therefore, thanked the honorable for his numerous support to education within Pujehun District.  Chief Bockarie underscored that the provision of school materials would not only benefit pupils but would also remedy the economic burden on parents and guardians to prepare their children or wards for school.

He, therefore, made a clarion call on parents to always monitor the day-to-day academic activities of their children or wards and ensure they produce better grades. This,

he said, would earn the pupils more opportunities from not only honorable Dickson but from other well-meaning Philanthropists in the district.

Ibrahim Rogers a JSS one pupil of Government Secondary School Bumpeh, expressed profound thanks and appreciation for the materials distributed by the Honorable Member of Parliament. He confessed that the generous donation is a big relief to their parents adding that, the materials would now serve as a motivation for them. He also encouraged his fellow pupils to make good use of the materials and be serious with their academic work.
