The Central Football Association is set to kick -off their Inter Community league at the central part of Freetown on 20th August 2023.
The theme of this year’s competition is “SAY NO VIOLENCE AND DRUGS” with 40 Communities set to fight for fifty Million Leones as star price with a giant trophy and 30 million Leones runner up spot with 20 million Leones.
The Chief Sponsored for this year’s competition is Mohamed Gento Kamara and other partners who have donated Le 100 million Leones plus other prizes within the ongoing competition.
The Chairman of the Central One Football Association Philip Cline Cole in a Press Conference with Journalists said this year’s is going to be more competitive considering the number of teams that are going to be part of this year’s competition; noting that they are going to work hard to see the Competition climax before the Sierra Leone Premier League returns in November 2023.
He confirmed that this year they will still maintain the same sponsors as last year in the person of Mohamed Gento Kamara who has splashed out Le 100 million Leones plus other prices, noting that before the competition kick-offs he has given five million Leone to each of the 40 Communities in this year’s competition.
He further that this year’s competition they will give prize to third place winners which will be a novelty in the competition because based on the request from the participating Communities that’s why they have agreed to prize for third place winner.
In the security area, he assured that there is going to be watertight security throughout the competition because there has been series of engagements with the communities and security personnel for the competition to be free from all forms of Violence. He called on Football fans to come out in their numbers and support football and help promote young players for the Country.
The opening ceremony is going to be between the defending champions KTR Bay Community will go head to head with the Bambara Town community at 4:30 pm at the Parade ground all Football fans across the City will turn out to support their respective communities’ team.
