The Clinetonians Community Team kicked off their title defense with a (1-1) draw against the resilient Moeba Community Team at the Brima Attogua Mini Stadium.
The match began at a high tempo, with both sides threatening in the final third. Moeba Community struck first, with Lamin Kamara finding the net in the 20th minute. Despite Clinetonians’ efforts to equalize, Moeba’s solid defense maintained their lead, and Foday Ballack Mansaray’s missed chance just before halftime left the score at 1-0 in favor of Moeba.
After the break, both teams returned to the field with renewed determination. Clinetonians equalized in the 47th minute with an acrobatic finish from their inform striker, Foday Ballack Mansaray, who found the back of the net to give his team the much-needed goal.
Moeba responded with increased attacking pressure, aiming for a second goal. However, Clinetonians’ defense, bolstered by effective team talks during halftime, held firm against the onslaught. Both teams battled fiercely for the three points, with notable missed opportunities from Alie Conteh and Musa Bangura for Moeba. Ultimately, the match concluded in a 1-1 stalemate.
The opening ceremony was attended by NSA Executive Director Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai Esq., along with numerous dignitaries from various sectors. Despite heavy rainfall, fans passionately supported their teams throughout the match.
