Information reaching A-Z desk has informed that the Education Secretary Diocese of Makeni, Fr. Peter Momodu Mansaray has called on all schools including administrators to desists from any act of violence and must not in any stage any unrest on the 11th and 12th September.
He said on the 7th September in the Vicar General they held a meeting with the most Senior Commanding Officers of the Sierra Leone Police (AIG) and Armed Forces (Brigade Commander, Chief of Staff and Commanding Officer) of the North-East Region; at that meeting they were officially informed that there is a Security Intelligence that they want to use schools and school children as human shields for the pending protest slated for September 11th / 12th etc.
It is against this background that he had instructed the Vicar General to inform all parish priests, managers, head teachers, principals, priests and religious people to alert all school children to stay away from all forms of influence of violence and if possible to reach their parents to protect their children from violence.
“We must also admonish our teachers not to use our schools for any activity of protest or political unrest”, he warned.
