Community Health Officers (CHOs) are undergoing an 18 days training on the control and spread of Covid-19, Ebola and other deadly diseases in Pujehun. This training is geared towards raising community awareness on deadly pandemic.
The training was also geared towards identifying, treating and / referral for pneumonia, malaria, acute malnutrition and diarrhea. It will also provide assessment of general danger signs for prompt reaction. It is part of the Integrated Community Case Management plus.
The training which should be cascaded down to Community Health Workers must be done using the “right communication skills”. Lead facilitator, Mohamed Vandi told trainees that the Corona virus disease is not over yet.
Speaking to one of the CHOs, Francess Gbonda sounded appreciative of the training and thanked government for it. “It is going to be of immense help to communities across Pujehun district” she said.
Training manuals were given to participants for thorough understanding of the workshop.
