Chi Shu Liang a Chinese national has made his fourth appearance before Magistrate Mark Ngegba for wounding Zang Hong and Tang Lee. Accused is charged with wounding with intent contrary to the Laws of Sierra Leone.
The accused person admitted to have physically wounded both complainant Zang Hong and Tang Lee on various parts of their bodies since the 31st January, 2021
The charge sheets states accused persons and plaintiffs are staffers of the O.K. Global Fishing Company Limited of No.1 at White Man’s Bay, Murray Town Freetown.
While testifying one of the victims, Zang Hong said, she was in the kitchen preparing for the Chinese traditional Food Day known as “Punkring”. Zang Hong added that the accused person was also in the kitchen and he rang the bell for all Chinese national’s to go the kitchen to prepare their local food.
The victim said she overheard Wang, one of the inmate of the house saying to Chi Shu Liang, the accused person that they will not come to the kitchen. The victim said she saw the accused person coming through the main entrance door to enter the kitchen. She added, “Immediately I felt a strike on my neck, thinking it was the roof top that has fallen on my neck.”
Zang Hong said when she placed her right hand on her neck to feel, she saw the accused person stabbed her for the second time with a chopping knife on her right hand and felt serious pain blood oozing profusely.
When the second victim Tang Lee was testifying in court, he said he was called through his mobile phone by one Xu Qiang to inform him that the accused person has been using chopping knife to stab the victims.
Tang Lee said on his way to the kitchen he felt a sudden sharp object on the back of his neck and when turned around, he noticed that was stabbed by the accused person, who again stabbed him on the right hand and right jaw.
When asked, the accused person said he was not in his right state of mind and never conscious of what he was doing. He further said he never knew what he was doing and therefore, have no reason for what prompted him to do such act. The accused person said he only recalled that there was a strong feeling in his head and mind, which he himself was unable to interpret.
The accused persons were taken to the Male Correctional Center, and matter adjourned to the 12th April, 2021.
