In a concerted effort to bolster agricultural productivity and foster food security in Sierra Leone, Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh has taken decisive action by championing the “Feed Salone” initiative. This ambitious endeavor underscores President Bio’s agenda, emphasizing the imperative for citizens to cultivate what they consume, thereby propelling inclusive economic growth.
At the forefront of this agricultural revolution, Chief Minister Sengeh has demonstrated unwavering commitment by personally spearheading initiatives in his hometown and beyond. His endeavors include the establishment of a substantial cassava farm spanning 30 acres in Womba, along with two additional sites dedicated primarily to rice farming. These expansive tracts of land, totaling 100 acres across Massa and Njadama in the Pujehun District, signify a resolute dedication to agricultural advancement at both the local and national levels.
What distinguishes this initiative is its collaborative nature, with Chief Minister Sengeh actively engaging community members in the cultivation process. By fostering partnerships between local residents and government authorities, the initiative has generated employment opportunities for youths, women, and the elderly, thus revitalizing rural economies and promoting social inclusivity.
