The Chief Administrator of the Bo city council, Veronica J. Fortune has commended the media houses in Bo city for their good collaboration with the council thus far in 2021.
Speaking during the 2022 MTEF Bilateral Budget Discussions held by the Bo City council on Wednesday 13th October, 2021, C.A Veronica J. Fortune stated that, her council has enjoyed a fruitful relationship with the media thus far and she is impressed with the show of love for the people by the media in Bo city.
“The media has been intact, serving as checks and balances to our operations and as a council, we appreciate such because they put us on our toes and help us correct wrongs for the good of the people of Bo city” she pointed out.
The Bo city council’s Chief Administrator admitted that, the council and the media sometimes disagree but later meet at a juncture and get things right.
Towards revenue generation, Veronica J. Fortune informed people present that, the council is making huge success but such would not have been felt had the media abandoned the council and its operations.
By the end of 2020 we decided to partner with five radio stations through which we host and simulcast our weekly “Bo City Council Hour”. Air jingles and public notices/media releases and equally get invitations to their news and current affairs programs have greatly impacted our revenue generations as many residents now get clearer insight on our operations” she mentioned.
Aside from the five partner Radio stations, the chief Administrator equally applauded other media institutions not included for they have also been doing tremendously well with and for the Bo City council.
“The media, you people have been awesome and we at Bo city council appreciate you as we encourage you to do more for the good of Bo city, we are in this together” she ended.
