Today, May 11 as in every year since the remarkable and noble death of the Jamiacan born Super world Reggae mega Star and  Icon, Robert Nesta Marley the theaters, and concert venues of social and the musical world have not relented in revibrating with renewed joyful celebrations and commemorations, all in Grand and spectacular styles in every culture around world , the musical songs and poetic lyrics of the creative gifts of a humble son of the little lsland of Jamaica in a man that the world simply knew as Bob Marley.

Aged  36 years ( Born 1945 and died in 1981). RIP.

It is this very creative musical sing and song writer, Bob Marley that I want to join the social world in celebrating today.

But this is just one of the many times that I have celebrated the Bob Marley Day ( May11).

However, my celebration/ commemoration of the Bob Marley story today has a personal critical/radical twist in the memorial that I wish to talk about  and how a brother Sierra Leonean Mr. Kamara who calls himself a Rasterfarian, after the good example of the world celebrated Robert Nesta Marley of Jamaica.

To my mind, after listening today to Mr. Kamara, our Sierra Leonean so called Rasterfarian, both on our national SLBC Radio Programme, ” MORNING COFFEE”, and later on  an interview with Mr. Umaro Fofana of the International BBC world Service ( FOCUS ON AFRICA, 17:00 pm edition), I was enraged by   what Mr. Kamara foolishly said to our nation Sierra Leone as an  alternative to the ” Charcoal domestic use by the people in  our country.

Mr. Kamara had said that the domestic use of Charcoal by the people in Sierra Leone is not environmental friendly. And worst of all,he said, the practice is  primitive ,destructive  to forest/vegetation, the Ecosystem and the health of the people of Sierra Leone. That could be fair enough, I hope.

But what Mr. Kamara is proposing as an alternative which he believes can be environmentally suitable, friendly and economical, leaves me and I suppose many Sierra Leoneans baffled and foolish who might have also heard the SLBC “Morning Coffee program today and that interview on BBC Focus on Africa taken by the Sierra Leonean Journalist, Mr. Umaro Fofana.

To say the least,I find both sessions very appalling, unintelligable, illogical on the part of the Rasterfarian, Mr. Kamara, and very unprofessional journalistically, produced and put on air to the public by our National SLBC Radio Programme MORNING COFFEE. And later  done again by The BBC International correspondent Umaro Fofana.

None of the producers and director on the SLBC program, unfortunately, was smart enough to understand Mr. Kamara’s ploy to deceive  our nation with falsehood, corruption, just to  get some financial support for his bogus project  from the public and share it with his friends  for the celebration of Bob Marley’s Day May11 in Sierra Leone by proposing a fake idea to replace Charcoal domestic use in favour of ” Palm nut carnel, Coconut Carnel, and Saw-dust.”

Palm nut Carnel and Conconut Carnel could be fair enough for domestic use, and also be environmentally friendly and economical.

But using sawdust is definitely  equally, if not more destructive to the forest, environment and human health.mr kamara wanted our journalists to swallow his ideas hook line and sinker, and to promote it to the nation on their media.mr kamara almost succeeded, in deceiving our nation through our journalists Bob Marley once said in one of his music “let no one deceive you”, that is why I’m writing this piece and reflection to show that we cannot all be deceived and all the time by bogus people who bring new ideas into our country.

now just listen to what Mr. Kamara said:

In place of the use of Charcoal for domestic purposes, Mr. Kamara is proposing the use of Palm nut shell, coconut shell, and Sawdust.

The first two are reasonable. They have been used in little traditional settings in our country Sierra Leone many many years ago, and perhaps even today.

But now let us see how Kamara’s us of sawdust, as bye-product of timber logging, is heavily destructive to forest vegetation and our green life environment. The Rasterfarian

Mr. Kamara does not know or he fails to realize that sawdust comes from timber, and timber, from ? tree in  the forest being cut down and logged, cut  for furniture before being crushed  into saw dust at carpentry work shops.

Thousands of trees are cut down in timber logging to make our domestic furniture in homes. Many more are illegally exported abroad.

We at home may only benefit from the sawdust.

How even Umaro Fofana could not read the lips of Mr. Kamara and see as illogicall, corrupt

and a mere falsehood.

Thus our  top Sierra Leonean professional journalists have allowed themselves to be used and out witted by a mere bogus Rasterfarian and smart businessman.

As Bob Marley said, ” Don’t allow yourself to be fooled”.

So I have written this short reflection today to praise and celebrate Robert Nesta Marley Day May 11,2023, in  wisdom and truth   and not to deceive or fool anyone.

Salone man en woman, please be careful and stay awake Work with your mind and conscience and help develop our Mamma Salone.

LONTA.

Cheers to all my readers.

RIP, Bob Marley.

I love you and praying for the happy repose of your generous gentle, and thoughtful soul.

You made the world happy by your creative songs and poetic lyrics.
