Catherine Agatha Sillah, one of the aspirants for Mayor of the Bo City Council, on Tuesday the 13th of September 2022, donated two HP Printers one to the Sierra Leone Peoples’ Party (SLPP) District Office, and one to the SLPP Regional Office to prevent the party from taking sensitive materials to be printer outside.
Disclosing the purpose of the donation, Madam Catherine Agatha Sillah reminded us that Sometimes ago during the training of party agents for the ongoing voter registration, she visited her constituency and realized that certain materials were not enough for the process due to challenges around the photocopying machine. She added that she also visited the party office and on many occasions, she saw staff putting sensitive information about the party on a pen drive to go and print them outside. She, therefore, considered the printing of SLPP Party materials outside as a very terrible venture which has no confidentiality for the part.
Ensuring that vital information about the party activity is kept within the party premises, gave Madam Sillah the urge to donate those two printers to the Party Office. She elucidated that one printer is meant for the District Office and the other for the Regional Office which would enable them to do their work efficaciously. She assured me that the printers are very nice and durable HP Multi-purpose Printers which have the quality to print and photocopy materials.
“I have used this kind of printer personally and because they are very good, gave me the courage to buy the same machines for the party offices so that they can now do their printing and photocopying house”, she said.
Madam Sillah continued that the motive behind the timely donation was to protect her party so that information relating to the party would not leak out. She reiterated that the printers could now minimize or eradicate the party information going into the wrong hands. She also disclosed that she has spent over forty years in the SLPP Party. Madam Sillah also added that she became a patron member of the party in 2006 adding that, she is currently a Chief Patron Member of the Party.
The Bo City Council Mayoral aspirant furthered that her aspiration for the Bo City Council Mayoral is still timely since she is now a successful person in society. She intimated that she is not going into the council to embezzle funds meant for the people because she is now better placed in society. She concluded by disclosing that she has also done tremendously well in Voter Registration donating forty Mega Phones to mount awareness and also preparing jingles for Voter Registration sensitization.
In receipt of the printers, the SLPP District Women’s Leader Mary Katta assured that Madam Catherine Agatha Sillah is not a stranger to the party. She added that even when Madam Sillah was working with the NGOs, she always has time to do good for the party. On behalf of all the Women, Mary Katta extended profound thanks and appreciation to Madam Sillah for her generosity to the party. She also assured Madam Silah that the printers would be used for their intended purposes.
