Caretaker testifies against 18yrs old pupil

Amidu Bangura a caretaker has testified against one Ibrahim Sorie Bangura 18yrs old pupil who stands trail before Magistrates Peter on the Pademba road court No.6 for stealing thirty bags sand and six lengths iron rods.

Bangura was before the court on one counts of larceny contrary to section 2 of the larceny Act of 1916.

Police alleged that the accused Ibrahim Sorie Bangura on Sunday 14th August 2022 at No.58 tree planting Sierra Leone did steal six full lengths of iron rods each value two hundred and forty Leone and thirty bags sand each valued at ten Leone all to the total one thousand seven hundred and forty Leone property of Amidu Bangura.

Led in evidence A.S.P Barrie the complainant Amidu Bangura said he recalled on the said date and he recognized the accused person in the dock.

He said he was setting at Kargbo drive having time with himself and then he saw the accused carrying a sand on his head and he approached the accused about the said sand but he denied and one of my friend by the name of Alfred also asked him where he got the said sand but the accused did not responded to us he said.

Bangura further that he told the accused that he will place a call to the engineer at the site and the accused feels threatened and told us that he stole the sand from the said site.

The witness said that he took the accused at the Akon police station and a report against him.

Bangura continue that after the said date he found out that six lengths iron rods and thirty bags sand got missing he told the court that Police officer took photos of the scene as exhibit which was produce and tender in court.

The accused person was not legally represented in court.

Magistrate Gogra remanded the accused in custody and adjourned the matter to the 25th of August 2022 for further hearing.
