Ibrahim Sannoh, a car washer, made another appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2 in Freetown on a count of Possession of a prohibited drug without lawful authority contrary to section 8 (a) of the Narcotic Drug Control Act 2008, Act No.10 of 2008.
According to the particulars of the offense, on Wednesday, August 14th, 2024, at Bus Halt Brookfields, the western area of Freetown, was found in possession of twenty-four wraps of Kush without lawful authority.
No plea was made when the charge was read and explained to the accused.
The prosecutor, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sorie Conteh, led his witnesses, and the file was withdrawn for judgment.
Magistrate Bangura, in his judgment, said that regarding the totality of the evidence adduced, he is satisfied that the prosecution has raised a prima facie case for the accused person to be answered on trial. He, therefore, committed the matter to the High Court.
Counsel representing the accused person, S.A.S Kanyaku, renewed and adopted his previous Bail applications on behalf of the accused person.
The bail application was refused, and the accused person was brought to the High Court without bail.
