Osman Daramy, a camera operator at the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC), made his first appearance before Magistrate John Manso Fornah of Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown on four counts: conspiracy to commit a felony and three counts of office breaking and larceny contrary to Section 26(1) of the Larceny Act, 1916.

According to the particulars of offence, between 5 and 6 January 2026, at the SLBC office in New England Ville, Western Area, Freetown, the accused allegedly conspired with other persons unknown to commit a felony, namely office breaking and larceny.

Count Two alleges that the accused, with intent to steal, broke into the waiting room and stole a 43-inch Sharp plasma television valued at Le 6,000, property of SLBC. Count Three states that the accused broke into the engineering office and stole Le 2,000 in cash, property of SLBC. Count Four repeats the allegation of breaking into the engineering office and stealing another Le 2,000 in cash, also belonging to SLBC.

When the charges were read and explained, the accused did not enter a plea.

The prosecutor, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sorie Conteh, informed the court that the defense counsel had been duly served with the necessary documents.

Defense counsel, C. Kamara, requested a short adjournment to review the case file.

However, Magistrate Fornah refused bail, citing the seriousness of the offences, and remanded the accused to the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown.

The case was adjourned to 3 February 2026.
