In the bid of fulfilling one of the pillars of Islam, especially in the month of Ramadan which is “Zakat” otherwise charity to the less privileged people, Cadre Foundation has donated food items and a whooping sum of money to the needy people at the Bo Central Mosque on Friday 14th April 2023.
When donating the items, Edward Koroma, National Coordinator of Cadre Foundation said the entity has been highly recognized across the nation for its humanitarian drives; adding that Cadre Foundation compromises both present and past students of Njala University. He furthered that the institution was established in 2012 as a way of uniforming students’ unionism, comradeship, love and support among students. “Today this entity has decided to pay back to society by providing food items to the less privileged homes in Bo City,” Coordinator Koroma said.
The Deputy National Coordinator, Juliana Ansumana, revealed that the month of Ramadan has always been a significant month for people to embark on charity works as well as alleviating the less privileged homes with food and other essentials as a result of enhancing the forgiveness of Allah Almighty. She stated that they realized to make a such commitment by putting smiles on the faces of many dying families in Bo.
While the Financial Secretary, Massah Ngabai, mentioned that the donation was singlehandedly sponsored by the foundation members courtesy of individual subscriptions. She affirmed that they would continue to extend this goodwill gesture across different localities in Bo City before Ramadan elapses.
Sojasia Lahai, a member of the Cadre Foundation emphasized that paying back to society should always be at the beck and core of every institution for a swift coexistence of the two religions in Sierra Leone. He promised that the Cadre Foundation is here to stay and is ready to give more to the society
Alie, one of the beneficiaries thanked Cadre Foundation for providing such items to them, particularly the time they needed it most. He hoped that they would extend their various supplication on behalf of the Cadre Foundation.
