Massah Rogas a business woman residing at Koya Town Willington has narrated with tears running down her cheeks how her junior brother rained invectives on her and their mother in view of the public.
Narrating her ordeal before magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Ross Road court number three, she recognized the defendant as her senior brother.
She said on the 12th October 2023, I heard the accused was flogging his daughter around nine at night and their mother tried to separate them when the accused started throwing invectives.
Complainant said the accused stated categorically that the child is not his problem, but she. She said the accused also said he will kill her and take the properties if she did not move out.
Crying at the witness stand, complainant said the accused threatening to go and consult a witch doctor who will come and kill her.
Complainant said the accused rained invective on her the whole night in the presence of neighbors and on looked, and in the morning he went and reported the matter to the police.
“My lord, the accused molested me in the eye of the public to the point that I felt ashamed” she said with tears running down her cheeks.
Complainant said having gone through that, she decided to seek for justice form the court.
Cross examined by defense counsel Musa A Kamara, complainant said the alleged incident took place at their compound.
She confirmed that neighbors were present at the time the accused was raining invectives on her. In another question put to him, complainant said she was in good terms before the incident.
Confronting complainant about the invectives, she said the accused was pointing directly on her forehead when talking. Complainant said she never recorded what happened between her and the accused. Complainant confirmed that she and the accused have issues for over nineteen years, with accused ordering her to move from the house they are residing.” I did not bring him for the issues we have but for the abuse and threatening against my life,” complainant stated.
Prosecuting counsel said he will present his second witness on the next adjourned date slated for the 13th of November 2023. Magistrate Hadiru Daboh ordered the accused to be remanded at the male correctional center.
