37yrs old Ramp Supervisor, Alpha Kandeh Luseni Bangura and Salieu Thaimu Kamara 41yrs old business man has on the 18th January,2022 appeared before Magistrate Sahr Kekura at the Magistrate Court No.1 in Freetown.
Count one alleged that on the 14th November 2021 at Lungi International airport in Kaffu bullom Chiefdom the accused persons Alpha Kandeh Luseni Bangura and Sallieu Thaimu Kamara conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit larceny.
Count 2 states that on the same day and place the first accused stole 71 iPhones valued at 624 Million five hundred thousand Leones, property of Mohamed Conteh.
Whereas count three alleged that on a date unknown in November 2021 in Lungi town the second accused Kamara did receive 2 pieces of IPhones each valued 20 million Leones known same to be stolen property of the Complainant Mohamed Conteh.
Mohamed Conteh the complainant testified that he is a business man selling iPhone and others businesses. He recognized both accused people in respect of the matter and recalled on 13th November 2021. He said up his arrival the accused persons told him that one of his boxes-blue color and red box which contain seventy one iPhone 13pro max, 12 pro max regular 13 11, pro max 12 pro max and iPhone 8 + all valued six hundred and twenty four million five hundred thousand Leones did not arrived at the airport.
List of those items where produce and tender in court as part of evidence which was Mark as exhibit A 1 and 2. He stated that when the said boxes were at the United States they weigh 25 kilo when the box arrived in Freetown the weight was seven kilo.
Defense counsel renewed their application for the first accused because the second accused was not in custody and bail was refused for the first accused and was granted for the second accused in the sum of two hundred million Leones one sureties must be resident in Freetown bail must be approved by the DRA the matter was adjourned to the 20th January 2021.
