Barely three months ago after the Bike Riders Union (BRU) of Bo received three motor bikes from the Gassimu Mallah Foundation they pledged to generate revenue for other bike riders.
Therefore in fulfillment of that pledge, the executive of BRU has presented a new motor bike to Gassimu Mallah.
Presenting the motor bike on behalf of other members of BRU, the National Organizing Secretary, Musa Vonu expressed satisfaction that they have been able to buy a bike from the revenue that they have generated from the three motor bikes that the Gassimu Mallah Foundation donated to them three months ago.
The National Organizing Secretary for bike riders Union told Mr. Mallah that his support to BRU did not gone in vain.
“We’re here to present to you one motor bike. We gave to other bike riders the three bikes that you donated to the Union. We have bought one more bike after three months, making it four motor bikes,” Musa Vonu said.
Receiving the motor bike, Mr. Gassimu Mallah said he believes in empowering people.
He added he is not a self-centered person and said he will give BRU the new bike for them to manage and make sure the four bikes are properly used to be able to generate more funds in order to get more bikes.
The District Secretary General of the Sierra Leone People’s Party, Bo Foday Abdulai informed he has known Gassimu Mallah for a very long time.
He described Mr. Mallah as developmental for rendering support to many institutions.
“Many people know him as a giver and not a selfish person,” he stated.
He called on other party members from Bo District to emulate the good work of Gassimu Mallah.
A beneficiary, Bockarie Massaquoi thanked the Union for recommending him to get a motor bike and also thanked Friends of Gassimu Mallah for the gesture.
He promised to use the motor bike for its intended purpose.
The District and Regional executive members of BRU were also present at the ceremony.
