William George Stone and Ola George Stone made their first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura at Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown, facing charges of burglary and larceny, contrary to Sections 25 (1) and 13 (a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of the offence, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Isaac Renner Drive, First Bridge, Gloucester Village in the Mountain Rural Area of Freetown, the two brothers allegedly broke into the dwelling house of Cecilia Korji with the intent to steal. They are accused of stealing a DSTV decoder, one land luggage, a traveler’s electric iron, a small suitcase, a Sierra Leone passport, a gold wristwatch, and other assorted items, valued at a total of 16,610 Leones, all of which belong to Cecilia Korji.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused, no plea was taken. Counsel representing the accused, M.K. Donda Esq., applied for bail on behalf of the two brothers.
Magistrate Kekura granted bail to both accused in the sum of 50,000 Leones or one surety each in like sum. The sureties must reside in Freetown and provide their national identity cards, which should include their Freetown address. Bail is subject to approval by the Deputy Assistant Registrar. The matter was adjourned to April 9, 2025.
