Sierra Leoneans feel blackmailed by the notice from Britain that imputes Redzone in describing the seriousness of our delta Covid 19 situation.
Sierra Leoneans interviewed by this press are of the view that the travel red list advice is a misrepresentation of the risk level of the country where death toll from COVID is recorded below hundred as compared to spiking figures reported about Britain as of July 16th new case, 51,273.
“Britain is supposed to be the red zone and the Sierra Leone government must be bold to say this fact followed by measures to slam restrictions or rigorous screening processes on most European and Asian countries,” suggests a Civil Servant preferring not to be named.
Michael Kamara a medic also refutes a study that was never subjected to peer review as also guilty of misrepresenting Sierra Leone’s COVID risk level when it indicated that cases are underreported here.
The basis at arriving at the assumption of under-reporting our Covid 19 cases are lacking in scientific validity, it has been argued by a group of medical students interviewed from College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences.
Sierra Leoneans are calling on the British government to review their travel alert and delist Sierra Leone from the red zone.
It has been suggested that a red zone ascription could have been evidential by overwhelmed cases of COVID 19 patients in our hospitals and clinics across the country.
It is unclear what diplomatic action the Bio government will follow in responding to what is patently seen as a bully from Britain.
