His Excellency President of Sierra Leone Dr. Julius Maada Bio will on Wednesday 6th January 2021 depart for Accra. The trip is in the spirit of bilateral diplomatic relations with a sister country of ECOWAS.

State House sources have confirmed that he will be joining his peers from around the world to grace the inauguration ceremony of the reelected president, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the Republic of Ghana.

President Bio will be accompanied by his wife, the first Lady, Madam Fatima Bio. They are due to return back home on the 7th January 2021, it has been officially disclosed.

Ghana presidential election was keenly contested on 7th December 2020, with the incumbent President Nana Akufo Addo securing 51.2 representing 6,692, 630 and opposition leader John Mahama securing 47.2 representing 6,170,492 votes. The opposition had since vowed to contest the results in court.

The two parties National Patriotic Party and the opposition National Democratic Congress even up on parliamentary seat 137 each.

Sierra Leone and Ghana have a long history of close diplomatic tie that remains intact based mutual respect.
