Four people have been arrested in connection with the alleged breaking into the office of the Head of Burial Team, Senneh Kamara who doubles as the Administrative Assistant at the Connaught Hospital Mortuary.
Over twelve million Leones is reported to have been missing from the office. A-Z Newspaper has gathered that the suspects were detained since Tuesday helping the Central Police Station with their investigation.
Our source revealed that Senneh was loathed for his stance against corruption, especially the action of some workers collecting monies from bereaved relatives who are supposed to pay at the bank only to take the bank slip to the mortuary for the release of the corpse for burial.
On January 7th, 2021, four were transferred to the Provinces; an action deemed as punishment for corrupt practices.
However, the fault with the freezer has been rectified thus stopping the unpleasant smell that had gripped the mortuary area for two weeks.
