Popular hip hopper in Central Freetown, Rashid Difan ‘aka Bone Na Throat’ has made a clarion call on old artists to give chance to the new breed of artists.
In his recommendation during an exclusive interview with A-Z newspaper, Bone Na Throat said those artists who have been in the game for two or more decades should relax so that those of them who are new in music will have the space to grow in the music industry of Sierra Leone.
He said the new ones should be encouraged and given the awards instead of the old folks. He expressed the need for a musicians’ census to be conducted so we know exactly the number of musicians and their challenges.
“With this census, we will be abreast with adequate information about our artists in the country”, he explained, adding that new artists are facing enormous challenges day in day out.
“I am an aggressive hip hopper with no political affiliations like some artists who are head bent on partisan politics”, he blasted, noting that his aggression on stage is because the TRUTH does not exist.
He disclosed that he had been invited to perform in politician conventions but turned them down on the grounds of his nonpartisan principles.
Bone Na Throat has released only one album but has got about 90 tracks which he said will be released in due course. He graduated from IPAM with a Diploma and Honors Degree. He is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Governance and Leadership.
