The Body of Christ President in Kono District Rev. Festus Tamba Morsay has described the constant electricity outage in Kono District as a sign of backwardness and destruction in the District.
The Man of God made the statement to news men when contacted to know their take as religious leaders on the operations of EGTC and EDSA in the District. He noted the present electricity deficiency is seriously affecting both the rich and poor in the district and as a result it is continuously undermining the peace and stability of the district and the country as a whole.
When asked to know the significance of light from the Christian perspective Rev. Festus Tamba Morsay noted that light is of strong importance for the existence of life citing example to the creation of the world in Genesis chapter one which speaks a lot of light in God’s kingdom adding that the creation of the world would not have been completed without light because light signifies good things while darkness symbolizes destruction.
Highlighting the benefits of light to man Rev. Morsay maintained that light serves as security, protection and it gives life to plant and animals. The division of light from darkness by God himself speaks of two kingdoms the light representing the kingdom of God and the darkness represent the kingdom of Satan which is always characterized by total destruction.
He advised workers of EGTC and EDSA to be transparent and always keep their customers inform about the challenges that will prevent them from providing electricity supply in the district he noted.
