The Public Relations Officer of the Electricity Distribution Supplying Authority (EDSA) in the Southern and Eastern Regions, Mohamed Baskay Sherriff has disclosed that Bo will be helping Kenema with Electricity Supply due to the maintenance on the Dodo Hydro Dam in Kenema District that will commence on the 18 May and will end on the 26 May, 2021.
He said EGTC is responsible for energy generation and will be undertaking maintenance work on the Dam to ensure that the people of Kenema enjoy sustainable electricity supply.
Mr. Sherriff said because of the maintenance on the Dodo Dam, there will be reduction in the supply of light to the people of Bo-means 12 hours electricity will be reduce 6 or seven hours.
He maintained that Bo has currently 4 machines but because of the expansion of Bo City, it will be difficult to generate twenty four hours light, thus it is prudent to ration the light, adding that “we are however trying to improve on the power supply to ensure that the people get twenty four hours light.
Mr. Sherriff re-assured the people of sustainable energy supply as they are working on the Bo-Kenema network rehabilitation and the West Africa Power Pool Project is ongoing.
He however cautioned Sierra Leoneans to keep eyes on the property of EDSA so that thieves will stop cart way the cables and other properties that aid in the generation and distribution of the light in the country.
