Sierra Leone Premier League Champions BO Rangers Football Club has on 7th August 2023 knocked out the Champions of Guinea Horoya in the West Africa Championship.
The match started with a pace play from both with lots of strength in both attack and defense, but the Horoya FC take the lead in the 29th minutes of play as Sory Camara strike sky shot through the counter play to give the host the early lead but in the second half Suffian Kalokoh leveled the score lines in the (88) minutes of play as the goal gave some hopes to the visitors BO Rangers.
According to the format of the Championship it knock out is basic after the (1-1) all draw the match went to a straight post game penalties as the Champions from Sierra Leone BO Rangers won by (4-3).
Solomon Demby the Assistant Public Relations Officer of BO Rangers Football Club said the Championship is good one for the team because they want to prepare their side for the CAF Champions League Preliminary round as they will host LISCR FC of Liberia on the (19) this month 2023 and the return leg to be two weeks later.
He affirmed that, as a club they are using the Championship to get better preparation for the Preliminary that is round the corner as this time around they want to make it to the group category of the CAF Champions League, if the Rangers knock LIRSC FC of Liberia they will face a team from Libya.
He noted that the management of BO Rangers are doing all they can to get the boys prepared for the task ahead as he called on the Football loving Fans to rally behind the boys as they represent Sierra Leone. BO Rangers will face next the FA Cup Champions on Thursday in Semi-Final if they progress the team make it to final of the West Africa Championship.
