Bo Rangers Defeats Diamond Stars And Move Nine Points Clear In SLPL

Bo Rangers Football has on 23rd April 2023 defeated Diamond Stars away from home and move nine points clear in the Sierra Leone Premier League after 20 matches played in the second rounds of the ongoing league.

In form Striker Abu Komeh’s goal in the first half is enough to give a vital win to the current champions as they are hunting to retain their title, just after conceding the goal the host Diamond Stars got several chances but failed to convert any of those chances to goal and the defeats is there back to back defeats in the ongoing league.

Bo Rangers have now secured 48 points after 20 matches played scoring (19) goals with (8) goals against the win has now given the Rangers firm belief in retaining their Trophy.

Diamond Stars Football Club could have been above Bai Bureh Warriors at the (5th ) place they currently are (28) points joint with Port Authority who is in seventh position in the league.

In the other matches, East End Lions Football Club defeats FC Kallon at the Government Trade Centre field by a goal to nil, and the only goal of the match was scored by Mohamed Kamara in the 26th minute of play in the first half of the play and they held on to grab the all-important three points.

FC Kallon enjoyed the bulk of the ball possession in the second half but failed to convert any of those chances as they bout.

Raymond Hunter the head coach of East End Lions said the feeling is good after his side defeats one of the harsh rivals and this has now given belief to the squad going forward as their aim in this second half of the league is to challenge for the trophy and win back adding they are taking game by game as there are (14) matches more left.

Tunde Scott General Manager said the match was good for him even though they failed to win with all the chances created, but hopeful the team will bounce back in their next on Friday at home at the Angola town field on the West End of Freetown.

At the Wusum Field FC Johansen defeats Lamboi FC by a goal to nil and Johnsen returns to winning ways the only goal the match was scored in the (15) of play in the first half and Edward Forna converted a loose ball in the (18) yard give his the vital three points.

At the Kenema Mini Stadium, Kamboi Eagles defeated Real Republicans by a goal to nil as the win leapfrog them from the relegation zone.

At Brima Attougia field Old Edwardians thrash Freetown City Council

Ruthless Old Edwardians picked up their second away Premier League win of the season as they thrashed Freetown City FC 4-0 to move up to ninth in the table.

After five minutes, Alusine Kamara’s curtain raiser saw the May Park Boys ahead before Samuel Gandi slotted from the spot 8 minutes later.

Kasim Turay added Old Edwardians’ third before the break and Musa Thoronka completed the party midway into the second half with a sublime finish.

It’s a back-to-back win for the May Park Boys under new Coach Francis Zappa Koroma who was appointed in March.

It was a sweet revenge for Old Edwardians, who were hammered 5-1 by FCFC in the first leg on New Year’s Day.

This is Freetown City FC’s eighth defeat of the season, having gone winless in their last five premier league matches.

At Trade Center, East End Tigers left it late to secure a vital win against Ports Authority but remain in the drop zone.

Mighty Blackpool received a title blow after their 0-0 draw with Wilberforce Strikers at Angola Town Field.

Bai Bureh Warriors beat Freetonians SLIFA 1-0 in Port Loko to register their seventh win of the season and to move up to fifth.

The Sierra Leone Premier League will continue over the weekend as Champions BO Rangers will take on Mighty Blackpool at the BO Mimi Stadium.

While East End Lions entertains Old Edwardians.
