Bo Rangers Beats Kamboi Eagles: Maintains Winning Run In SLPL

Bo Rangers Football Club maintains their winning run in the Sierra Leone Premier League as on 15th January 2023, they defeated Kamboi Eagles by a goal to nil in the South East derby at the Kenema Town Field.

Kamboi Eagles and BO Rangers clash in the Premier League is referred to as the traditional South East derby, as the rivalry is always heated on match day.

The match started with a pace play from the two teams, but the host created more threat to the front of the goal of the opposition, the composed defensive work of the Rangers hold the match to half-time goalless.

After the first-half break, the two teams return to action for the second half of play as both sides look more determined to get the winning in South East derby that has been dominated by Bo Rangers for the past two seasons.

The only goal of the match came in the 60th minute of play as the in-form striker Abu Kemoh scored the goal in the second half of play through a counter play and the Bo Rangers grabbed all three points against their bitter rivals Kamboi Eagles in the South Eastern Derby.

Abu Komeh has now scored three goals in the League.

Assistant Coach Ahaji Foray aka Abedi was on the touchline for Bo Rangers against his former side in the absence of Head Coach Jose Solomon Cortes.

 He could not hide his emotions but cheerfully celebrate after the final whistle. Bo Rangers who have again regained the top spot with 20 points will next face newly promoted sides Lamboi FC at home. Meanwhile, they are 2 points clear of Mighty Blackpool who is in the second position after 8 matches. Debutant and young goalkeeper Ahmed T. Mannah was named man-of-the-match following his impressive performance in the match for “the Eagles”.

The other matches results at the Port Loko Mini Stadium Bai Bureh Warriors, settled for a goalless draw with East End Tigers Football club in a crunch tie, the host was the better side, however, the visitors hold to salvage the draw.

At the Government Trade Centre field Kissy Dock Yard, Freetonians SLIFA ended the unbeaten run of Diamond Stars Football Club, as they defeated the boys of Tito Cole by a goal to nil in the ongoing Sierra Leone Premier League, Freetonians have crunch tie against Port Authority who drew with FC Kallon by a two all draw.

At the Brima Attougia Mini Stadium, Freetown City Council Football Club defeated Wusum Stars by a goal to nil as the winning move the Council boys from the relegation zone and dump Wusum Stars’ bottom in Log.

At the Approved School Mini Stadium, Luawa FC beats Real Republican Football Club by a goal nil and the only goal came in the first half of play.

The Sierra Leone Premier League will continue this Wednesday, and Thursday across Freetown and the Provinces.
