In a bid to strengthen civil-police relations in Bo, a delegation from the Commercial Motorbike Riders’ Union has paid a courtesy visit to the Regional Police Commander South, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Brima Kanneh, at his office in Bo.

Led by the National Organizing Secretary of the Union, Mr. David Moseray, and the Southern Regional Chairman, Mr. Sorie Kargbo, the delegation described the visit as both a gesture of appreciation for AIG Kanneh’s inclusive leadership and a reaffirmation of the Union’s commitment to partnership and peaceful coexistence.

Speaking on behalf of the union, Mr. Moseray praised AIG Kanneh for his open-door policy and dedication to community-oriented policing. He noted that such a leadership style builds public trust and encourages active citizen participation in promoting law and order.

“Your humility and willingness to engage with all stakeholders have laid the foundation for genuine collaboration,” Mr. Moseray said. “This type of leadership fosters peace, safety, and mutual respect.”

Echoing those sentiments, Mr. Sorie Kargbo commended the Police Command’s efforts to uphold law and order while respecting the rights of commercial riders. He emphasized the union’s continued commitment to working with the police in enforcing traffic discipline, combating crime, and promoting community safety.

In response, AIG Brima Kanneh expressed heartfelt appreciation for the visit and recognized the vital role motorbike riders play in Sierra Leone’s transportation system and economic development. He reaffirmed the Sierra Leone Police’s dedication to community-focused policing that values dialogue, inclusivity, and mutual respect.

“As a police force, our responsibility extends beyond enforcement,” AIG Kanneh stated. “We are here to protect, guide, and ensure that all citizens—including motorbike riders—feel valued and heard. Your contribution to national development is significant, and we must work together to maintain peace and stability.”

He encouraged ongoing communication and joint initiatives to address shared concerns and enhance public safety across the region.

The meeting ended on a cordial note, with both parties pledging to deepen their collaboration and promote harmony between the police and the commercial riding community.

The engagement is yet another example of AIG Brima Kanneh’s people-centered approach to leadership, reflecting a model of effective community policing grounded in partnership and mutual respect.
