The Deputy Minister of Political Affairs, Amara Kallon has emphatically stated that Bo and Kenema will start enjoying twenty four hours light starting this week.
He made this statement at the Political Affairs Ministry’s pre-launch of the Citizens Portal at the J& E Resort Conference Hall in Bo last week Friday.
“The government is very serious about the light for Bo and Kenema. The Vice President and the Energy Minister went to Ivory Coast to sign agreement for the CLSG light and has been presented. It is with the Finance to put resources together”, Mr. Kallon said.
He added that it was the Ivory Coast President signing the most important thing, because they own the Dam. They have signed for the first ten megawatt as we need about 37 megawatts. We need that for Bo and Kenema to energize the power stations.
“Ones the systems are switched on , Bo and Kenema will get 24 hours light until death do us part,” Mr Kallon assured with no aorta of doubt.
This message of Bo getting 24 hours light was greeted with a thunderous applause from his audience who were mainly residents of Bo at the J& E Conference Hall.
Some resident of Bo said that it is a wait and see situation as this was initially widely trumpeted in Bo but never materializes.
However, other residents of Bo said that Sierra Leone has a talk and do government with President Bio at the helm of affairs and that if even it is not this week but they are assured of the entire country being electrified by the end of 2022.
Some civil society activists who part of a consortium on services delivery said that Bo and Kenema getting is their right and the government should ensure that not only Bo getting 24 hours light but the entire country should also enjoy from twenty four hours light.
